Archer Welcomes Four New Associates

Archer is pleased to welcome the addition of four new associates to the firm’s Voorhees, Philadelphia and Hackensack offices.

Natalie M. Brennan – Natalie is a member of the firm’s Cannabis Law and Health Care Law Groups in both Voorhees and Philadelphia. Natalie also serves as a member of Archer Public Affairs. She provides advice and counsel on compliance, regulatory, and public policy matters to clients in the cannabis and health care industries. Natalie assists clients in understanding and navigating the evolving, complex recreational and medical cannabis regulations impacting businesses operating in this sector. She provides practical and actionable guidance throughout the license application process, including help with entity formation, due diligence, and final review of licensee applications. Natalie works with health care clients on state and federal administrative appeals related to enforcement and recovery actions, licensing and certification applications and advice, defending governmental allegations of health care fraud and abuse, and nursing home survey and certification issues. Natalie also represents clients in matters related to public policy. Prior to law school, Natalie served as a policy intern for First Focus in Washington, D.C. She also worked on federal and state legislation while serving as an intern on Capitol Hill to Former Congressman Robert A. Andrews (NJ) and Former Senator Max Baucus (MT). Natalie served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Linda Carpenter in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. Natalie received her law degree from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

Shloka Joshi – Shloka is a member of the firm’s Health Care Group in Philadelphia. Shloka counsels health care industry clients, including hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, physicians, physician practices, and telehealth companies in transactional and regulatory matters. She assists clients with formation of business entities, asset purchase agreements, employment agreements, and Board/governance issues. Shloka also advises clients on a variety of compliance and regulatory matters, including issues involving federal and state regulators, reimbursement issues, managed care contracts, payer issues and disputes, and cybersecurity/privacy laws. Shloka’s practice includes handling state and federal administrative appeals related to enforcement and recovery actions, licensing and certification applications and advice, defending governmental allegations of health care fraud and abuse, and nursing home survey and certification issues. Shloka received her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School.

Matthew M. Nicodemo – Matthew is a member of the firm’s Estates & Trusts, Estate & Trust Litigation, and Business Litigation Groups in Hackensack. Matthew represents clients in the area of estate litigation, with an emphasis in litigation involving will contests, disputes between fiduciaries and beneficiaries, guardianship matters, accountings, trust interpretation and reformation, and businesses. Matthew serves as the President-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division of the Bergen County Bar Association. Matthew served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Menelaos W. Toskos (Ret.) in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, General Equity and Probate Part in Hackensack, NJ. Matthew received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law.

Scott A. Sears – Scott is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Group in Hackensack. He advises and represents employers in a broad range of matters from daily counseling through litigation. Scott provides employment advice and counsel to employers on issues such as employee discipline and termination, reasonable accommodations, leave entitlements, wage and hour issues, and human resource policies and handbooks. He assists with internal employment investigations on behalf of clients, makes recommendations, and prepares employer responses to administrative charges, including charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Scott served as a legal intern to the Honorable Martin E. Ritholtz in Queens County Supreme Court in Jamaica, NY. Scott received his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
