Andrew J. Cevasco Installed as President of the Bergen County Bar Association

Archer is pleased to announce that Andrew J. Cevasco has been installed as the 121st President of the Bergen County Bar Association. Mr. Cevasco took office on March 21st, and was sworn in by Hon. Bonnie J. Mizdol, the Assignment Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Bergen County. More than 350 members of the Bar Association gathered at the Hasbrouck Heights Hilton in Hasbrouck Heights to confirm Mr. Cevasco’s installation and that of the remaining Officers and Trustees of the Bar Association.

A Shareholder in Archer’s Hackensack office, Mr. Cevasco has been a member of the Bergen County Bar Association since 1981, and a Trustee and Officer of the Association since 2005. He has also served as member and Co-Chair of its Probate and Estate Planning Committee and its Professionalism Committee.

The Bergen County Bar Association is one of the country’s largest county Bar Associations, with over 2,000 members. Founded in 1898, the Association fosters the professionalism of the legal community in Bergen County and advocates for the interest of its members, as well as the legal rights of the general public.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cevasco has demonstrated dedication to public service, including his work on the N.J. Supreme Court Committee on Character, which reviews applications for admission to the New Jersey Bar, and past service on the N.J. Supreme Court District IIB Ethics Committee.

Mr. Cevasco has handled a broad array of legal matters over his almost 40-year career. He regularly counsels clients in the planning and administration of estates and trusts and drafting of wills and trusts, and provides administration of estates and trusts. Mr. Cevasco is an experienced litigator representing clients in will contests, trust litigation and probate matters. He also represents clients with regard to guardianship and elder law issues. He has been appointed by the Court to represent minors and allegedly incapacitated persons in both contested and uncontested matters. Mr. Cevasco also counsels the firm’s commercial clients on matters related to business planning, business formation and dissolution, employment and contract issues, and real estate. He has also appeared before the Disciplinary Review Board and the New Jersey Supreme Court to represent attorneys who have been charged with violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Mr. Cevasco is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell. He is listed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a mediator and mentor on its Roster of Mediators.
