Steven K. Mignogna to Speak at NJBA Annual Convention “Uniform Trust Code – The New Legislation and Your Practice” and “Fiduciary Litigation Update”

Steven K. Mignogna, a Partner in Archer's Haddonfield office, will be speaking at two seminars at the New Jersey State Bar Association's Annual Meeting and Convention, being held May 18th-20th in Atlantic City, NJ.

The New Jersey Uniform Trust Code

On January 19, 2016, New Jersey became the 31st state to enact into law the Uniform Trust Code (UTC). The law will go into effect July 17, 2016. Professor David English served as the UTC chief architect for the national Uniform Law Commission and, now that the uniform act is 15 years old, additional changes may be considered. This seminar will introduce the audience to the new Act, the rationale for key provisions and changes that may occur on a national level. This Act is an important addition to the repertoire of tools available for attorneys to use to serve their clients. Four hour NJICLE programs are scheduled for late June, one in Morristown and one in Mt. Laurel, to hear from the New Jersey committee where attendees can learn to create, modify, and possible even terminate trusts under the new Act.
