Lloyd Freeman, Partner and Chief Diversity Officer at Archer, will participate the the NJ Spotlight Roundtable, “The State of Marijuana in the State of New Jersey: What’s Next?” on June 21 in Somerset, NJ.
For more than a year, New Jersey’s Democratic leaders have worked on a three-pronged strategy to legalize and broaden the use of marijuana in the state. The first aspect of the strategy is to widen the availability of medical marijuana to more citizens. Second, leaders want to legalize recreational marijuana for those over 21 years of age. The third prong is what leaders call a social justice pact. It means offering records expungement of those convicted of possessing small amounts of marijuana. They also plan to give minorities a leg up on investing in the new industry. This roundtable will take a look at the state of play in this effort, and consider what comes next.
