Archer attorney Reginald L. Streater recently moderated a town hall held to discuss the urgent need to reform probation and parole in Pennsylvania, which was presented in partnership by the ACLU of Pennsylvania and the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, this a first-time partnership between the two organizations. The idea for this first-ever collaboration between the two organizations was conceived and organized by Mr. Streater, who serves as both a Board Member of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia and Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ACLU of Pennsylvania, and has opened the door for future partnering between the two organizations.
The goal for both organizations was to engage with members of the communities that the ACLU and the Barristers’ serve. Panelists for the town hall educated and engaged in discussion with the public on the current state of criminal justice reform, relating to probation and parole reform, and stressed the importance of contacting local legislators to support common sense legislation, as it relates to parole and probation reform in Pennsylvania and beyond. Emphasis was also placed on voting in local elections for individuals who represent their view on this important topic.
Mr. Streater focuses his practice on commercial and complex litigation. His clients range from individuals and small businesses, to large corporations and public entities. Mr. Streater handles a variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, federal claims, federal civil rights claims, insurance matters, employment disputes, fraud claims, and tort claims in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
