Archer attorney, Reginald L. Streater, was recently installed to the 2019-2020 Executive Board of the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, Inc. as an Appointed Board Member. The 69th Annual Installation of Officers Ceremony took place September 11 at Philadelphia City Hall.
Barristers’ Association President David C. Williams said, “Barristers’ is fortunate to have Reggie on the Executive Board. Reggie has consistently demonstrated his leadership qualities and commitment to the professional development of black attorneys, to include his current role as a liaison to area Black Law Student Association (“BLSA”) Chapters. Reggie brings passion and energy to support Barristers’ goals of providing professional development opportunities for its members; championing the hiring, retention, and promotion of Black attorneys; and serving the Black community through advocacy and legal services.”
In addition to supporting the Executive Board and the Barristers’ agenda, Reginald serves as a law school liaison from the Barristers’ to Temple Law and Drexel Law’s BLSA chapters. Reginald will be moderating a town hall on the topic of parole/probation reform. The Barristers’ will be partnering with the ACLU of Pennsylvania.
An affiliate of the National Bar Association, the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia helps address the professional needs and development of Black lawyers in the City of Philadelphia and surrounding areas through programs such as seminars, cultural events and publications. Among the Association’s goals is to use the members’ skills and training to educate the community and assist those who cannot afford to pay for services. Recognizing the importance of future generations, the Association aims to be a tangible resource, both visible and accessible, to students interested in the legal profession.
Reginald focuses his practice on commercial and complex litigation. His clients range from individuals and small businesses, to large corporations and public entities. Reginald handles a variety of litigation matters, including contract disputes, federal claims, federal civil rights claims, insurance matters, employment disputes, fraud claims, and tort claims in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Reginald also serves as an Executive Committee Member to the Temple Law Alumni Association. He also serves as a Member to the Board of Directors of the Greater-Philadelphia Chapter of the ACLU of Pennsylvania. Mr. Streater is a Fellow and Alumnus of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group and a Keeper and Connector Fellow and Alumnus of LEADERSHIP Philadelphia.
