Equine Law

Archer’s Equine Law Practice Group practices equine law nationally, with a primary focus on the Mid-Atlantic region.  We provide legal counsel and solutions for various legal issues relating to horses, and related business and real estate issues.  We have represented numerous horse owners, breeders, trainers, jockeys and veterinarians, both individually and in connection with their business interests.  We are General Counsel to the Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association — the organization which represents all owners and trainers who race thoroughbred horses at Parx Racing in Bensalem, PA — and also have represented the other organizations who represent thoroughbred and standardbred horsemen in Pennsylvania.  We have worked closely with regulatory bodies, including the Pennsylvania Racing Commission and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, both formally and informally.  For example, we have drafted equine drug and medications rules and enforcement regulations and have handled numerous violation hearings.
