New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Appoints Michael L. Collins to School Ethics Commission

Archer attorney Michael L. Collins was recently appointed to the New Jersey School Ethics Commission by Governor Chris Christie. His term of service continues until June 8, 2020. A member of Archer’s Government Affairs Group, Mr. Collins concentrates his practice in the area of state and local law and government.

Established in the New Jersey Department of Education, the School Ethics Commission is a nine-member body established by the School Ethics Act with the power to issue advisory opinions, conduct investigations, hold hearings, and issue disciplinary sanctions. The Act is intended to ensure that the conduct of school administrators and board members maintains the respect and confidence of the people.

Prior to joining Archer, Mr. Collins served as Assistant Counsel to Governor Chris Christie in the Authorities Unit. In this capacity, he represented the Governor’s Office before New Jersey’s independent state and bi-state authorities, boards and commissions, including the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority, among others.

Mr. Collins also previously served as a member of the Holmdel Township Board of Education from 2008-2011.
