Michael D. Reeve, Litigation Technology Manager at the law firm Archer P.C., has earned the designation of Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) after successfully completing the inaugural certification examination administered by the leading professional association for e-discovery practice.
Mr. Reeve is among a select group of e-discovery professionals to earn the designation, awarded under the certification program administered by the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS). To earn the CEDS credential, individuals must pass a four-hour examination that provides a tough and objective measure of mastery of the challenging field of e-discovery. Certification verifies competence and expertise in e-discovery for lawyers, litigation support staff, records managers, information technology (IT) specialists, technology officials, court personnel, paralegals and consultants. In addition to comprehensive knowledge of technical issues, the certification program focuses on efficiency, cost-effectiveness and risk reduction in all phases of e-discovery. The exam was assembled over eight months by a team of 40 leading e-discovery professionals under the guidance of the ACEDS management and an independent psychometric firm, Kryterion, to ensure the CEDS exam was technically sound and legally defensible.
As Archer’s Litigation Technology Manager, Mr. Reeve is responsible for firm-wide coordination and promotion of litigation technology, the identification and evaluation of new litigation technology products and services, and the management of litigation practice support staff.
Mr. Reeve has more than 20 years of experience in litigation technology and is well-versed in all phases of discovery and evidence management, including expert knowledge of legal software platforms such as Summation, CaseVantage, LexisNexis Concordance, Introspect, IConect, Sanction, Trial Director, LAW Pre-discovery and Doculex Pro Capture.
