Attorney Jeffrey M. Kolansky has been elected Vice President of the Philadelphia Police Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the Philadelphia Police Department.
Mr. Kolansky, Managing Partner of the Philadelphia office of Archer P.C., succeeds Maureen Rush, Vice President for Public Safety at the University of Pennsylvania, who has been elected President of the Foundation.
The Philadelphia Police Foundation is dedicated to supporting the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department by funding projects that are beyond the scope of the City budget. The Foundation engages business, professional and civic communities in advancing the mission of the Philadelphia Police Department through collaborative initiatives, in-kind resources, training and funding for the Department.
For instance, the Foundation is in the midst of a fundraising campaign to help re-establish the Philadelphia Mounted Police Unit, and has provided funding for such items as Segway two-wheeled personal transportation devices for officers, crime mapping, bomb-squad equipment, officer training and body armor.
