Attorney Jeffrey M. Gradone of Archer P.C. in Princeton, N.J., has been elected Chairman of the Taxation Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the statewide organization of more than 18,000 members.
As Chairman, Mr. Gradone has overall leadership responsibility for the Section, which studies and disseminates information on developments in tax law and provides a forum for discussion of tax policy issues by professionals and elected and appointed officials.
Mr. Gradone, a Princeton resident, previously served terms as Secretary and Vice Chair of the Taxation Law Section. He is a longtime Section member and has also served for several years as co-Chair of the NJSBA’s Property Tax Committee. He received the NJSBA’s 2011 Distinguished Legislative Service Award for his key role in developing the Association’s positions on tax-related legislation. Among his many professional and civic activities, Mr. Gradone serves as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court.
Mr. Gradone concentrates his practice in local property taxation and eminent domain proceedings. He prosecutes complex property tax appeals in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and other Mid-Atlantic and New England states. He advises clients regarding property tax issues and liabilities, and pursues property tax exemptions, abatements, and other incentives for real estate development projects. Mr. Gradone also handles a variety of complex condemnation matters on behalf of property owners and lenders.
The NJSBA serves as the voice of New Jersey attorneys. The organization fosters professionalism and personal development, provides educational programs and materials to lawyers and the public, promotes access to and fairness in the justice system, and facilitates participation in pro bono activities.
