Archer partner Jeffrey M. Gradone has been appointed Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee of the National Association of Office & Industrial Properties New Jersey Chapter (NJ-NAIOP). Mr. Gradone has served as a member of the Legislative Committee for over 15 years.
NAIOP is the leading organization for developers, owners and related professionals in office, industrial and mixed-use real estate. It is comprised of over 15,000 members in North America and advocates responsible commercial real estate development.
In his new role, Mr. Gradone will work with committee members to review legislation to assess industry impact, recommend positions on bills and suggest legislative action consistent with NAIOP New Jersey’s public policy priorities. Members also give expert testimony in Trenton.
Mr. Gradone concentrates his practice in the areas of local property tax, redevelopment and condemnation. He litigates complex property tax appeals in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Mr. Gradone counsels clients regarding property tax issues and liabilities, and pursues property tax exemptions, abatements, and other incentives for real estate development projects. He also handles a variety of complex condemnation matters on behalf of property owners.
A significant portion of Mr. Gradone’s practice is focused on negotiating and obtaining tax exemptions and abatements for developers under New Jersey’s Long-Term Tax Exemption Law and Five-Year Exemption and Abatement Law.
