In Memoriam: Lee M. Hymerling
July 30, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague and friend Lee M. Hymerling on July 30, 2021. Lee first joined Archer & Greiner in 1970 and previously chaired our Matrimonial and Family Law practice. Lee was an accomplished and highly-regarded attorney who had established a statewide reputation for excellence in family law.
Over his more than four-decades long career, Lee devoted much of his time to the legal and civic community, serving in various leadership and board positions, including Chair of New Jersey Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Review Board, Chair of New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Section, and Board Member of Symphony in C. Lee and his wife, Rosie, are well known for their Inuit and 20th Century art collection and their charitable fund-raising efforts for the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Haddonfield’s Markeim Art Center, and Cherry Hill’s Garden State Discovery Museum.
Raised in Princeton, NJ, Lee earned his law degree at University of Pennsylvania Law School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
Lee had tremendous energy and commitment. Often first in the office and last out, his office was filled with piles of current cases, articles in mid-edit, mementos and recognitions, and Philadelphia Flyers bobble head dolls.
Lee always strove to do his very best and to live life to the fullest. He was a talented attorney, a trusted colleague, and a good friend to many, and he will be greatly missed.
