Michael W. McCutcheon

Michael focuses his practice on corporate and commercial litigation. He represents clients in a variety of business disputes, including corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder rights, business torts, and other matters affecting companies and their stakeholders. He has substantial experience prosecuting complex litigation, including class and representative actions involving some of the world’s largest public corporations, and has helped achieve significant recoveries for clients.

Throughout the litigation process, Michael works with clients to investigate potential claims, initiate litigation, manage complex offensive and defensive discovery, prepare for depositions, and draft substantive motions and briefs. He also guides matters through mediation and negotiates resolutions.

Michael takes a proactive and collaborative approach to his work, emphasizing an understanding of each client’s objectives and priorities. He values clear and timely communication and practical advice, and works closely with clients to develop thoughtful strategies, assess risks, and navigate complex legal issues.

During law school, Michael served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Donald J. Stein, General Civil Division, Superior Court of New Jersey.

Before joining Archer, Michael was an associate at a Pennsylvania law firm, where he concentrated his practice on corporate governance disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, and mergers and acquisitions litigation.
