Overview
Alex represents clients in sophisticated bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters both in and out of court. He advises and represents a wide range of stakeholders, including financial institutions, corporate clients, indenture trustees, institutional investors, insurers, Chapter 7 trustees, trade creditors, and lessors and lessees in transactional matters and litigation, including workouts, restructurings, and proceedings under Chapters 7, 11, 13, and 15 of the Bankruptcy Code.
He has significant experience representing both debtors and creditors in complex bankruptcy cases and cross-border insolvency proceedings. He also represents clients in creditors’ rights and business litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in bankruptcy courts. His bankruptcy practice includes contested matters and adversary proceedings, including the prosecution and defense of avoidance actions. Alex’s broader creditors’ rights, litigation, and enforcement experience includes foreclosures and receiverships.
His practice also encompasses high-stakes transactions, including distressed acquisitions, loan workouts and restructurings, UCC Article 9 dispositions, and secondary market loan sales, in addition to creditors’ rights and enforcement matters.
After receiving his law degree, Alex served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Alan S. Trust of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Prior to joining Archer, he was an associate in the business restructuring practice of a New York-based law firm.
