Alex Genato Appointed Chair of ABA RPTE Property Tax Committee

Archer is pleased to announce that partner Alex Paul Genato has been appointed Chair of the Property Tax Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE) for the 2026–2027 bar year, effective September 1, 2026.

The ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law serves as a prominent forum for attorneys practicing in those areas. Its Real Property Division addresses a broad range of legal issues involving property ownership, development, regulation, financing, taxation, and disposition. As Chair of the Property Tax Committee, Alex will help lead the committee's initiatives, educational programming, and discussions on emerging issues affecting property tax law and practice.

Alex concentrates his practice on local property taxation, eminent domain, redevelopment, and state tax matters. He represents clients in complex commercial and industrial property tax appeals and advises businesses and property owners on property tax liabilities, exemptions, farmland assessment qualification, and related tax planning strategies.

Active in the legal and tax communities, Alex has been appointed Vice-Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court, effective September 1, 2026. He is also a former Chair of the Taxation Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and has been an active member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), where he frequently speaks on topics related to property taxation, valuation, and real estate tax appeals.
