Archer Partner David A. Weinstein has begun serving his second three year-term on the Board of Education in Moorestown Township, N.J.
Mr. Weinstein was re-elected in November and was sworn in earlier this month during the Board’s reorganization meeting. Himself a product of Moorestown public schools, Mr. Weinstein and his wife have three children – a pre-K, a third grader and a fifth grader – in the school system.
After serving several years as an appointed volunteer for township groups such as the Economic Development Advisory Committee, Mr. Weinstein was first elected in 2009 to the Board of Education, an elected position for which members receive no pay. The Board sets policy and has overall responsibility for the operation of the school system, which includes six schools and more than 4,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
Mr. Weinstein is a member of the Corporate Department of Archer and is based in the firm’s Haddonfield headquarters. He has a diverse corporate practice, with a concentration in public and project financing, as well as alternative energy development and financing. In addition to serving on the school board, his extensive civic involvement includes serving on the Board of Trustees of the Moorestown Theater Company.
