Christopher Gibson Appointed to Chemistry Council of New Jersey Board of Trustees

Archer president, Christopher R. Gibson, was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey. He will serve a 2-year term running through September 30, 2024.

Dennis Hart, Board Secretary and Executive Director of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey, stated, “We have an engaged membership, and that is true of our Board members. The Nominating Committee fully endorsed Chris Gibson’s appointment to the Board of Trustees and were impressed with his background and vast management experience. Our Council will only benefit from his insight and participation.”

Chris serves as Chair of Archer’s Litigation Department, where he specializes in environmental, toxic tort, natural resource damage and commercial cases. He also chairs the firm’s Environmental Law and Condemnation and Eminent Domain Practice Groups. During his more than 30 years in practice, Chris has litigated and tried a variety of commercial, employment, construction, toxic tort and product liability cases seeking personal injuries and property claims.

Chris has successfully tried multiple cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars in response costs or natural resource damage claims on behalf of many large chemical and petroleum companies. He has represented several large corporations in cases that have been brought by the State of New Jersey seeking natural resource damages. Chris acts as local and regional counsel to nationally and regionally known corporations, and also represents and advises smaller and mid-size local businesses in various commercial litigation, employment and environmental matters, as well as represents many governmental clients.

Since its formation in 1955, the Chemistry Council of New Jersey became the leading association representing the interests of more than 60 New Jersey manufacturers and 45 firms in the business of chemistry, including the manufacturing of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biologics, flavors and fragrances, and oil refining before the New Jersey Legislature, Executive Branch, and state agencies.
