David F. Edelstein

David represents Fortune 100 companies, large multinational corporations, and smaller businesses at several of the largest Superfund sites in the country.  David has also handled numerous cases involving claims for natural resource damages and has extensive experience negotiating with Trustees, governmental entities and private parties. He also has significant experience representing clients in litigation brought pursuant to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and comparable state statutes. In addition to his litigation practice, David provides regulatory counsel to clients performing environmental remediation under federal and state law.  Over the past several years, he has represented a major international corporation in negotiations with regulators and municipal governments in several states with respect to the on-going investigation of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) at a number of sites, and he is intimately familiar with the emerging law related to PFAS.

David chairs Archer’s pro bono practice. In this role, he works closely with partner organizations like the Cyrus Vance Center for International Justice, Philly VIP, Volunteer UP, and New Jersey Legal Services to identify opportunities for firm attorneys to provide legal support to underserved members of the community. Under David’s leadership, the firm provides an expansive scope of pro bono services that ranges from the provision of legal assistance to local, public-interest minded media outlets, to an annual expungement clinic through which eligible individuals may have criminal records expunged thereby removing potential impediments to access to employment, housing, and education, to representation of nonprofit organizations in real estate and land-use matters. In addition to overseeing the firm’s pro bono activities, David has his own active pro bono practice that primarily focuses on environmental justice matters.
