Archer Partners Named to Lawyers of Color’s Nation’s Best List

Archer is pleased to congratulate firm partners Carlos M. Bollar and Lloyd Freeman who have been named to Lawyers of Color’s inaugural Nation’s Best list, which recognizes leading attorneys with a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities.

Through research and studies, publications and conferences, Lawyers of Color focuses on the intersection of the legal profession and social justice, and motivates business, political, and community leaders to effect change and advance equality. The Nation’s Best list is published in conjunction with diversity recruiting firm Major, Lindsey & Africa and the Diverse Partners Network.

A member of Archer’s Environmental Law Practice Group, Mr. Bollar is a seasoned litigator, representing clients in complex toxic tort, product liability and environmental litigation matters, often involving claims for personal injury, medical monitoring, property damage, and natural resource damages. Mr. Bollar is a member of the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Mr. Bollar is a recognized bar leader and diversity champion in the legal profession. He is the Finance Director of the Hispanic National Bar Association, and Past President of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. Mr. Bollar serves on Archer’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and over the years has spearheaded multiple initiatives that significantly influenced the firm’s culture, and diversity and mentoring programs. Mr. Bollar is a frequent lecturer and author on diversity and inclusion issues impacting businesses and the legal profession.

As Archer’s Chief Diversity Officer and Chairman of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Mr. Freeman works to carry out the firm’s vision to grow diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, as well as implement policies and procedures, and foster programs to promote diversity throughout the firm. A longtime champion of diversity and inclusion in the profession and at Archer, Mr. Freeman created Archer’s affinity group, L.E.A.D. (Lawyers Encouraging Archer’s Diversity) and has coordinated the firm’s summer associate program for the past two years, resulting in the most diverse summer associate classes in the firm’s history. Mr. Freeman himself was an Archer summer associate and is the first person of color to rise through the ranks from summer associate to partnership status.

In his legal practice, Mr. Freeman represents clients in commercial and complex civil litigation in matters involving consumer fraud, real property, franchise, business torts and other issues related to business and contractual disputes. Outside of the firm, he served as president of the Garden State Bar Association—New Jersey’s oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges—and has written articles and spoken at conferences on the importance of diversity and inclusion. He is Board Chairman of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region and a Board Member of Drexel University Kline School of Law.
