Archer Hosted Law Students for Mock Interviews

Archer’s Richard Ramones addresses student questions.

Law students from law schools within the Delaware Valley Region and New York City recently tested their job-interview skills in a mock interview during a program sponsored and hosted by Archer. The mock interview program allows law students the chance to practice for the upcoming On-Campus interview season.

Law students receive interview tips from the panel.

The mock interviews were held on July 18th at Archer’s Haddonfield office and were conducted by attorneys from law firms, government agencies and corporations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The program is an annual event put on by the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ). Rutgers School of Law was the other sponsor of the event.

“It’s a great opportunity for law students to make a professional connection with someone who is doing what they hope to do, and to also experience what an interview is in a setting where they’re not being officially evaluated,” said Archer attorney Richard Ramones, who served as a panelist for the program.

Students met with an attorney for a 15-minute interview followed by a 5-minute critique. Students were provided constructive feedback on everything from body language to the substance of their answers and follow-up questions.

The workshop also featured a discussion on interviewing methods, interviewing tips and techniques, and included a networking reception at the end.  Over 50 law students and attorneys participated.
