HADDONFIELD, NJ – June 9, 2006 – Archer Partner, Frank D. Allen has been selected as the chairman of the committee which plays a key role in selecting the next United States Magistrate Judge in Camden, New Jersey.
Mr. Allen is one of seven attorneys and two lay people who have been appointed to serve on this Merit Selection Committee. Mr. Allen will join his colleagues in recommending five candidates for Magistrate Judgeship.
The role of the Merit Selection Committee is to review applications, conduct interviews, and recommend individuals whose character, experience, ability and commitment to equal justice under the law fully qualify them to serve as a Magistrate Judge. Each of the five candidates will be interviewed by the sitting United State District Court Judges for the District of New Jersey who must chose one of the five as the new judge. The selected candidate will replace Magistrate Judge Joel Rosen, who is leaving the bench for private practice after 19 years of exemplary service later this summer.
Mr. Allen was recommended to Chair the Merit Selection Committee by the Judges of the Federal District Court. He is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney who has tried cases in federal and state courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other states. Mr. Allen is the Chair of Archer’s Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury litigation practice, and can efficiently and aggressively handle both complex and more routine litigation. His reputation for integrity makes him a standout in the personal injury field, whether he is representing a plaintiff or a defendant. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Camden County Bar Association, and Chairman of its Personal Injury Committee.
