Archer Continues Annual Diversity Summer Associate Program Into 2019 With Support From Panasonic & The Hershey Company

As part of the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and in collaboration with local affinity bar associations and corporate partners, Archer & Greiner is pleased to announce the continuation of its Diversity Summer Associate Program through 2019. With continued support from Panasonic Corporation of North America, and The Hershey Company as a new and welcomed partner, the program will provide two law students with financial support, ongoing mentoring, and offer students a rare glimpse into the day-to-day realities of legal work in private practice for a law firm and in-house in a legal department setting.

Archer & Greiner partner, Lloyd Freeman, who spearheads the program and was recently named Archer’s first Chief Diversity Officer said, “I was the beneficiary of Archer’s diversity scholarship when I was a law student, and I am proof that diversity programs do work. The exposure is unique, and part of our commitment to diversity at Archer is fostering the development of deserving law students who reflect a diverse workforce. This program does just that.”

The Diversity Program was formed to identify, support and train exceptionally qualified diverse law students who demonstrate the characteristics required to become future leaders in the legal profession. One program participant will earn a 2019 summer associate position to be split between one of Archer’s offices in New Jersey (Hackensack or Haddonfield) and Panasonic’s legal department in Newark, New Jersey. Another participant will earn a 2019 summer associate position to be split between Archer’s office in Haddonfield and The Hershey Company’s legal department in Hershey, PA. Candidates should demonstrate outstanding academic achievements, exceptional leadership qualities, and have a connection to, and/or intent to practice law in the tri-state area. The selected program participants will receive a salary and a housing stipend, if appropriate.
