Real Estate

The lawyers that comprise our Real Estate Department service a broad range of clients, including national, regional and local office, retail industrial and residential developers, home builders, brokers, investors and other types of industrial and commercial ventures throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York. The Department also has a strong real estate lending practice, representing both borrowers and lenders, including national and local banks, savings associations, credit unions, mortgage companies, insurance companies, REITs and other public and private lenders, in connection with all types of financing and joint development transactions.

Each Philadelphia lawyer represents local, regional and national builders and developers in all aspects of residential, commercial and industrial real estate transactions. Our NJ lawyers  represent all types of commercial and business ventures in real estate acquisitions, sales and financing transactions.

The Department counsels chemical, petroleum, industrial and lending clients in all aspects of environmental issues related to real estate and finance transactions. Attorneys in the Department have written and lectured extensively in these areas and have developed documentation addressing these important concerns for all types of transactions.

In addition to the transactional matters handled by our real estate attorneys, a number of lawyers in the Department spend most of their time on land use and environmental permitting issues, and every lawyer in the New Jersey and Philadelphia Department deals with those issues in their day to day practice.

  • Our attorneys practice in the area of commercial lending transactions and tax-exempt financing, representing lenders and borrowers in complex real estate financing and bond financing transactions.
  • Each lawyer has experience in the areas of New Jersey commercial real estate and corporate┬átransactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, like-kind exchanges, office and retail leasing, real estate development, and real estate-related lending.
  • Represented developers in their financing and leasing needs. This includes extensive and often difficult negotiations with lenders and representatives of national companies respecting leases.
  • Represented a wide variety of real estate developers, builders and commercial landlords, as well as, owners and managers of industrial parks as well as a variety of commercial tenants.
  • Each New Jersey and Philadelphia lawyer has extensive experience in litigating real estate and construction related cases, as well as, commercial tenancy disputes involving issues of constructive eviction and use clause interpretation.
  • Extensive experience with environmental matters related to real estate and corporate transactions and alternative energy matters.
  • Our attorneys have advised various lenders, developers and industrial concerns regarding environmental compliance related to business and real estate transactions.
