Archer & Greiner, Pelino & Lentz Announce Merger of Law Firms
Dec. 22, 2008
Archer & Greiner, P.C., and Pelino & Lentz, P.C., announced today that the law firms will merge effective Jan. 1, 2009.
The combined firm, which will retain the name Archer & Greiner, P.C., will comprise more than 175 attorneys specializing in a wide range of practice areas, including labor and employment, litigation, corporate services, real estate, trusts and estates and family law. The firm will rank among the largest law firms in the Philadelphia region.
Archer & Greiner, established in 1928, is a regional firm which has maintained an active office in Center City Philadelphia for more than 20 years. Pelino & Lentz, founded in 1969 by the late John W. Pelino, and joined by Martin Lentz in 1970, maintains a diverse practice serving Philadelphia and the surrounding counties from its offices located at One Liberty Place in Philadelphia. With the merger, Archer & Greiner will have more than 30 lawyers based in Philadelphia, with operations consolidated at One Liberty Place.
Principals of both existing firms said the merger complements their strong existing practices while enhancing full-service capabilities throughout the region, particularly in Philadelphia. The combined firm will remain committed to the business model that enabled both existing firms to grow and thrive: highly skilled and credentialed lawyers, an intense focus on client service and a favorable rate structure to provide exceptional value to clients.
“We feel it’s a good time to demonstrate a further commitment to an important market because we believe our well-diversified practice has opportunities even in a challenging economy,” said Gary J. Lesneski, Esquire, President of Archer & Greiner. “This decision advances our regional strategy and enhances our capability to deliver services to our client base throughout the region.”
Pelino & Lentz shareholder and director Salvatore M. DeBunda, Esquire, notes that “our firms have a complementary practice in important core areas. This merger will provide our firm with additional depth to serve our existing client base and the larger platform will provide increased practice development opportunities for our attorneys, all with a continued shared commitment to the highest quality, cost-effective service to our clients.”
As part of the merger, Mr. DeBunda, Howard A. Rosenthal, Esquire, and Neil A. Morris, Esquire, will become shareholders of Archer & Greiner, P.C., with Mr. DeBunda becoming Co-Managing Partner of the Philadelphia office along with Jeffrey M. Kolansky, Managing Partner of Archer & Greiner’s Philadelphia office since 2004. Mr. Rosenthal will join the firm’s Board of Directors.
Archer & Greiner is headquartered in Haddonfield, N.J., 10 miles from Philadelphia, and is the largest firm based in southern New Jersey. The firm also has offices in Princeton and Flemington, New Jersey, as well as New York City and Wilmington, Del. Archer & Greiner operates a full-service practice, serving the legal needs of a diversified client base, from individuals and nonprofits to corporate clients that include some of the world’s largest companies.
