Biography:

For almost 30 years as a practicing attorney in Philadelphia, Ms. Hurt has concentrated her legal practice on estate and gift planning for individuals, including tax analysis and integration of the client's wishes with the realities of federal, state and local tax burdens; analysis of and solutions to problems in estate and trust adminstration for fiduciaries, and legal issues of non-profits for charitable organizations. Her clients include individuals; corporate and individual executors, administrators and trustees, and non-profit organizations.

In addition to her individual clients, Ms. Hurt represents the executors of various estates in administration, the trustees of several long term trusts, and non-profit institutions. She is a member of the local, state and federal bars.

Ms. Hurt has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Probate Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association Education Committee.  She has lectured and published on a variety of legal issues over her career.  Her primary interest, however, is in solving the legal problems of her clients.

Ms. Hurt is a Board member, the Secretary and a Vice President of the Academy of Vocal Arts, a Philadelphia post-graduate educational institute internationally known for the quality of the opera singers trained there.  She also grows orchids and is a past member of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Orchid Society and the Greater Philadelphia Orchid Society, where she has served on the Board.  Prior to attending law school, Ms. Hurt taught in and chaired the History Department of a well-known local private school.
